Internship in Technische Universität Kaiserslautern, Germany
UNIKL offers students the possibility to gain practical experience in joint research projects conducted by industrial partners and Fraunhofer IESE. The students will run through a complete development process and perform activities such as requirements engineering, interaction design, architectural design, component engineering, quality assurance, and also project management. Further, students experience team work and communication. The projects provide the chance to experience development in an industrial context, gain specific domain knowledge, and get in touch with new trends / evaluate new technologies.
All EMSE students get automatically registered for the project.

Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (Fraunhofer IESE) is one of the worldwide leading research institutes in the area of software and systems development. A major portion of the products offered by our collaboration partners is defined by software. These products range from automotive and transportation systems via automation and plant engineering, Information systems, health care and medical systems to software systems for the public sector. Our solutions allow flexible scaling. This makes us a competent technology partner for organizations of any size – from small companies to major corporations.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dieter Rombach and Prof. Peter Liggesmeyer, the past decade has seen us making major contributions to strengthening the emerging IT location Kaiserslautern. In the Fraunhofer Information and Communication Technology Group, we are cooperating with other Franhoufer institutes on developing trend-setting key technologies for the future.
Fraunhofer IESE is one of 60 institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. Together we have a major impact on shaping applied research in Europe and contribute to Germany’s competitiveness in international markets.
Fraunhofer IESE wholeheartedly supports the European Masters programme in Software Engineering (EMSE).
Fraunhofer IESE confirms its participation as associate partner to EMSE and will observe its obligations stemming from Erasmus Mundus program to make the master program a success.
There will be five EMSE students attending their second year of EMSE in UNIKL academic year 2017/2018
Ayush Verma - India
I am Ayush Verma, an Indian and a B.Sc Computer Science graduate from University of Łódź, Poland, currently studying at University of Oulu (OY), Finland. I have a computer science background and I am very passionate about software development, embedded systems and machine learning. I have a curious mind and I believe that I can innovate. I have 6 months work experience in a Polish company called Witmax Techologies. First 3 months I worked there as a Java developer and as a member of a Scrum team for developing a control centre software for a 3D printer. Then, for rest of the 3 months I worked on an embedded system project, me and my team were responsible for developing a Hexapod robot. We used C++ for developing the firmware, arduino mega 2560 board for controlling the robot, Solidworks (for designings the chassis) and a 3D printer (for printing the chassis). In the end, both of my projects were completed and successfully deployed, because of that my boss was very happy and even offered me a full-time job of a software developer. I enjoyed working with my team, learning new things and gaining industrial experience.
